Alice Waters Book Signing at the Chino Farm

Posted on December 1, 2011

On December 11, from 11am to 1pm, Alice Waters will be on hand at the Chino Farm in Rancho Santa Fe to sign copies of her new book, 40 Years of Chez Panisse: The Power of Gathering. Alice is an award-winning chef and owner of Chez Panisse in Berkeley, as well as the vice president of Slow Food International. Her kitchen has been featured in Vanity Fair. Alice is a key figure in the sustainable food revolution, a strong advocate for the use of fresh, organic, locally-grown ingredients.

In her book, Alice brings readers along on Chez Panisse's journey from its start as a visionary new restaurant to its current fame. The book includes images of archival photos, menus and other ephemera, as well as interviews with chefs and well-known figures who have been influenced by Alice's life's work. Readers learn not only about the growth of an acclaimed restaurant, but about the role it has played in changing food culture.

The book signing also involves an informal reception. Enjoy wine and delicious food as you get a chance to meet the author. The event is free and will be held outdoors, rain or shine. You can purchase Alice's book at the event, or pre-order by emailing milanevw@gmail.com or by calling (760) 815-1026. The Chino Farm is located at 6123 Calzada del Bosque in Rancho Santa Fe.
